Chirashi Zushi!

Hi!

Today I ate Chirashi Zushi, which is famous Japanese home cooking.
We often eat it when we have festivity, especially the Doll's festival!
I don't now why my mother served it today.
In my expectation, she made it because yesterday was Kids Day in Japan.
But I'm already 20 years old, haha!

Anyway, Japanese come to eat it because Chirashi Zushi is fitting for the food girls eat on festival.
As a reason of that, Japanese seem to make it colorful by using seafoods such as shrimp and carp, and edible wild plants like rape blossoms for the ingredients.
*"shrimp is a symbol of long life"
In addition, we have clams(Hamaguri) soup with it.
Because each shells of it are rarely same size and same one is valuable for girls in order to find good marrige partner. Therefore, we serve them in Japan.
The above is summary I did by referring a webpage.
If you wanna know that more, please research by yourself. I'm sorry.

Briefly, Ingredients of Chirashi Zushi I ate today are...

1.sweetened vineger rice
2.Japanese omlet, shiitake mushrooms, carrots (shreded all)
3.salmon roe

I think it is good to scatter some shreded lavor(Nori) on it!

  3. I love chirashi sushi, but my mom doesn't like making it :0( So whenever I eat it in the states, it is very different from what you eat at home. In the states you get a donburi of sushi rice topped with lots of sashimi. It's really good, but I like the simplicity of homemade chirashi better.

Thank you for leaving your commemnts.
I agree with you, and I like simple one too!
I mean we need to use healthy ingredients that are made in Japan.
I prefer better heathier one than richer!
